RE: Copilot Spaces new feature
I would love to see GitHub Copilot Spaces integrated directly into Microsoft Teams, similar to how Office documents (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) can be collaboratively edited within Teams channels and chats.
Why this matters:
Teams is the central hub for communication and collaboration in many organizations.
When working on documents, everyone can co-edit, discuss, and see changes in real time—all within the Teams interface.
For code, however, we currently have to share links to Copilot Spaces or GitHub repos, and collaboration happens outside of Teams.
Feature request:
Allow a Copilot Space (or a code snippet/project) to be shared in a Teams channel or chat.
Enable real-time, in-place collaborative code editing and Copilot AI assistance directly within Teams, just like co-authoring Office docs. Integrate chat, code, and AI suggestions in one seamless experience, so all team members can view, discuss, and contribute to code without leaving Teams.
Benefits:
Summary:
Bringing Copilot Spaces’ real-time, AI-powered code collaboration into Microsoft Teams would align the developer workflow with how teams already work on documents, making code collaboration as seamless as working on Word or PowerPoint together.
